In 1981, Fluor established the scholarship program to encourage employees' children to continue their education following secondary school, to honor them for their achievements, and to assist them in financing that education. Now, more than 35 years later, each of us, in some way, is the beneficiary of the chosen professions of our many recipients.
Since the inception of the Fluor Scholarship Program for Employees' Children in 1981, Fluor has assisted 3,353 students with undergraduate scholarships and disbursed more than $15.6 million. The program currently has more than 202 renewal scholarships.
Supporting education is a Fluor tradition that not only directly impacts the employee and their family, but our communities. Fields such as medicine, international relations, engineering, political science, accounting, music, theater, broadcast journalism, communication, computer science, religion, history, economics, and animal science, are a few of the chosen studies and professions our recipients are pursuing.
